okay so what inspired this was George Carlin's recent admission to rehab for addictions to both painkillers & wine. I guess because in addition to be exactly what a man of his age should be addicted to, it's just a stupid thing to cop to as a celebrity. Painkillers? Wine? That's so boring. This guy is among the ten most pissed off people in the Entertainment industry. and he's what, 65? We're paying these people vast,. ungodly sums of money & they drink too much wine? Fuck that.
I think that anyone whose salaries are paid by the general public (and this includes actors, sports mascots, unemployment recipients and a sizable portion of government offices and some, but definitely not all musicians). I want to see hedonism and recklessness. Consumption makes these people so much more interesting.

So I've decided to make the perilous world of celebrity drug addiction into a parlour game! In this thread we list & rate celebrity vice & antics! Help me out:

+70 HUFFING ETHER - what isn't to enjoy about this? It's stupid, reckless and ferociously self-destructive.
+50 DRINKING WITH HILARIOUS RESULTS: a la Keiths Richards and Moon, and the 'Mats.
+20 REHAB: BETTY FORD - for sticking with the Queen.
+15 PCP - Angeldust! hysterical!
-EVEN- CRACK - Not funny unless it's
-05 EXOTIC LOCATION REHAB - more of a vacation than anything else. and it never works.
-05 COCAINE - too cliche. -20 if a porsche is involved. or David Geffen. +10 for porn stars, oddly enough. +25 for freebasing.
-10 PAINKILLERS - New Coke.
-20 DRINKING WITH TRAGIC RESULTS - a la Keith Moon, Shane MacGowan, & Randy Rhoads.

Wait...where's heroin? How many points for it? Cuz I could offer up Pete formerly of The Libertines, PLUS, he was sent to an exotic place for rehab -- hung out with the monks in Thailand. (It WAS Thailand, wasn't it?)

Does oxycotinin fall in under the 'painkillers' heading, or does it deserve it's own value?

Actually, I though Pete was smoking crack. And doing H.

And what about paint? Nothing better than the old silver beard.

+30 for operation
-5 for selling unpure product to high school girls
-100 for blowing yourself up
-1000 for standing guard while your brother blows himself up and then having to dispose of the body; thus becoming the subject of a sad song.

We need some kind of scoring for "open drug abuse"

Like: Doing coke off a stripper's tits in 1st Class on a Trans-Atlantic Flight +?

Fixing up (smack) in Church +?

DWP (Driving While on Paint), or showing up to any public appearance, recording session or court date with Silver/Gold Krylon beard +?

I don't think you can ding George for this one. A recovering coke addict, the child of an alcoholic mother, widower from an alcoholic wife...

From what I read, he checked in because he's aware that he's prone to addiction, and is rightfully scared. His comment was something along the lines of, "It's not a problem, but I'm not willing to let it become one."

Props for George.
