So my car got hit (again) and it was pretty much in the same spot where it got hit before and I just took the money from that and never got it fixed. So I was just going to go and get it fixed with the money that I get from this new accident but I get the check today and it's $1600+...

My car is a 96 Toyota Camry and I'm not really concerned about how my car looks. The only thing I'm debating over is I have to get it inspected next month and I don't think it'll pass inspection because the right rear directional signal is just...gone. So should I just try to rig something together myself (or just get that light fixed) so it'll pass inspection and take the rest of the money or should I just go and get the whole thing fixed?

i'd see how much it'll cost to get just the light fixed. and then, if it weren't too much more, i'd just fix the whole thing. then again, i do care about how my car looks and have preferred to just fix everything that was busted whenever i've been hit (or have done the hitting).

yep...the least you can do to get by...if you go to the right shop, they might rig it for you...for a nominal fee, of course

Get the light fixed. Pass inspection. Buy yourself a present of some sort. Put the leftover dosh in a cd, buy yourself a nicer car in two years than you would have otherwise. Maybe a cute lil mini.

Ironically, I 'm looking for smart people like you:

"Do you have dreams? I know I do. For a mere $1600 you can invest in a lifetime..."

Interested?

Even if it's "Gone", the wires should still be there. Those things aren't too hard to wire up, even better, you no longer have to worry about finding a bulb and lens to fit your car--any generic assembly will do--check Autozone or Carquest, or buy an assembly on line. Should be a snap and only cost you about $50.

yeah i think it's mostly just the bulbs and lens covering that are "gone". i'm gonna research this a bit online.

i've already made up my mind to take the money tho.

and no dogs, there's 2 cats in my house already.
