Just a few comments

I'm a little surprised by all the Grammy love for Gnarls Barkley
Found it a little odd that DCFC was in the Best Pop Performance Category
Think they might need to recategorize Best Solo Rock Performance, although I'm not sure what you would call it with the people nominated

i find it surprising that the idea of "alternative" has been around for over a decade since nirvana broke and over two decades since the music behind that generic title started to come together, yet the grammies have ONE award for "alternative" music. no "best track" or diversifying into group/male/female. meanwhile, i can eat a sandwich in the time it takes me to scroll through all of the rap categories.

who is daniel powter? i may not know a lot of these nominees, but i've at least heard most of their names. not this one.

i'm glad goldfrapp's getting some appreciation.

and that thin white duke remix of "talk" by coldplay is pretty great, but probably doesn't have a chance.

edit: I also love how the revamped sergio mendes album got love, but there ain't nothing there for the revamped Herb Alpert disc, which trumps the Sergio Mendes one in spades.
