It's practically an upbeat pop record compared to their previous two.

Today:
Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
Beans - Only
Excepter - Alternation
Wolf Eyes - Human Animal
Cabaret Voltaire - Red Mecca
The Vaselines - The Way of the Vaselines
M. Craft - Silver & Fire
Slowdive - Pygmalion

np: Beans - "Only 7"

What do you think? I listened to it for the first time yesterday and wasn't really impressed. Reminded me a little of Badly Drawn Boy, which for me is not really a good thing. I could see it being a grower, though.

np: "the meadowlands" the wrens [2003 retro week]

(the first album i bought directly from a record label website.)

(on track #10. kind of conflicted. don't like it as much as end-of-2003. my initial negative reaction at the muddled recording/production quality resurfaces on hindsight. some of this sound like it's playing off a buggy 8-track.)

i dunno...it seems like i really like every other track. really digging "love knows how to fight". i guess maybe i like the more mellow tunes...the poppier ones seem a little cheesy (and yes bdb-ish).

This morning when I woke up: "Suffragette City" by David Bowie. I like it when he says "she's a total blam blam."

Now: Joanna Newsom - Ys. This album is the bees knees.

Soon: Beck - the information

Many 2006 releases.

In which, I realized I didn't like the Stills release as much as I thought I did.

In that, I really didn't like it much at all aside from two songs.
