well i've thought and said before that this is a great year for music. easily the best since 2003. and i've bought more new cds and records this year than i have in 04 and 05 put together most likely. i've just now made the correlation thanks to Finch. thank you and good night.

I'm digging the production of it- the drums sound interesting, and the vocals sit in (and out) of the mix nicely. They seem to be elevated above the music in places, standing apart so you're able to hear nuances. The vocal phrasing on a couple of the tunes (Stand In Silence, in particular) is interesting.

There's some surprises as far as the construction of the songs, too. They've taken some parts that could have been ho hum/typical and breathed a different and surprising tack into them.

I can see your Beatle thing. Nothing wrong with that! :)

I had the same impression for many of the songs. It's like Rubber Soul-era stuff for about half the songs.

"Eight Days of Hell," yes. "Stand in Silence" sounds like Jane's Addiction to me, and "Sunken Dreams" is very Cure.
