i don't know, y'all. i love david lynch but this one tested my patience. also, i was sitting next to the loudest breather on planet earth. how do you ask someone to shut the fuck up if they are just trying to live? he didn't make it any easier to get into an extemely inaccessable film, so i may try again at some point in the future. fellow new yorkers can check it out at the ifc center. i will be curious to have a discussion at some point.

Because I am a total pussy, is there anything gory in it? Lynch does enjoy the occasional grievous head wound; me, not so much.

ummm... there's some 'gore' i guess. according to any reasonable measure, i would say less than would be acceptable on the evening news. however, i would also say that it is full of visuals that you may find disturbing beyond belief, and it's a sonic assault. there's nothing literal in the whole damn thing, so yours is not an easy question to answer.

"Disturbing" and "sonic assault" are what I love with Lynch. I just like to know in advance if heads and hands and stuff will be blown off, bashed in or accidentally self-shotgunned, as has happened in previous Lynchies. (At least the glass coffee table bit in Lost Highway happens off camera.) I usually have a friend who's seen it first tell me when these things are going to happen, spoilers be damned.

Like I said, total puss.
