I went to the University of South Dakota with his son Brendan and attended a few Democratic BBQ's at his house during Dakota Days. He is a nice guy. I don't know if I'd rate him as a top notch politician, but maybe that is why he is so well liked.
I really hope he pulls through and not just due to the 50-50 split.
Actually the first US Senator I ever met. Really nice, unassuming guy. Showed up with one aid, did a TV spot for this prjoect I was working on, reccomended a restaurant in Grand Rapids(?) for us to hit, and left. Its weird how that one brief encounter has always made me really like the guy and follow his career. Fuck the 50-50 split. I hope he comes through because he's a human being and an awesome one at that.
(Also, when you read about what this dude is going through, try to keep it in mind whence slagging Todd for his 85th Shrimp Boat or whatever else thread)
