Chetes - Blanco Fácil

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/17/arts/music/17kun.html

Interesting article in the New York Times over the weekend about Gerardo Garza (Chetes). He's been in Mexican rock bands, most notably probably Zurdok, and recorded this solo album in Nashville with ex-Wilco drummer Ken Coomer. It's really not typical Mexican pop music, but what I've heard doesn't come across as typically Nashville either. "Completamente" is up for a Latin Grammy and the album's getting a US release next week. Anyone heard it? I haven't even heard the whole thing (just pieces here and there), but I'm intrigued.

For a moment, I thought this was another of those chat threads...

Sounds interesting. What label is it on? I wonder if emusic will have it?

He's dreamy. Seriously though, looks interesting.
