2006 was a year I distanced myself from all things new in about April and flew head long into a old school rap and jazz binge. I think I've heard enough to make a top 10+3 though. Hardly earth-shattering stuff.

With Chicago public radio dropping jazz programming (music altogether) and the Jazz Showcase relocating at the start of the new year, I'm going to have lots of time to get back to these releases.
