Hmmm...I'd pick the Thermals cause "Test Pattern" is such a fucking awesome song. :)

I dig both albums but if you're struggling with choosing one and they are neck and neck I'd go with the Thermals simply for the attempt at a concept throughout the album and to have it work.

Great songs and intellectually stimulating. Great conversation album if you're into lyrics.

You won't be listening to either in 2007.

"a pillar of salt" and "here's your future" are excellent. the former has an awesome video too. i still can't get over "wow, they sound just like smashing pumpkins" when i listen to silversun pickups.

RIYL on The Thermals?

Obviously Silversun, dude. They brought back that awesome 90's sound!

The Thermals. They're more fun.

Mine is a tossup between Dan Sartain & Clipse.

I don't "get" Silversun Pickups. What I've heard is good, but not unique enough to make me want to buy the album. Decent rock, not special. Maybe I'd need to hear them more often.
