Of course I have, the song Nebraska is about Charlie Starkweather, who actually grew up relatively close to wear I live now.

I can't believe I'm just hearing this album for the first time! It really makes me want to get in touch with that part of America.

Yeah, not to hijack this thread for Nebraska purposes, but he dropped out of school while attending what is now Pound Middle School and they have a desk in a display case that he carved his name into.
I'm also pretty sure Bruce Springsteen performed alot of this album at the Farm-Aid concert they held at the University's Football Stadium here in Lincoln.

That's so cool! Is this guy handicapped or something? Just curious. I know, it's a random question.

Yeah, but Nebraska is really the only state that exists, doesn't it now?

I thought he was the criminal running back for the Cornhuskers. Oh, wait, that doesn't narrow it down much.

Charles Starweather?
No, he was a wannabe James Dean style thug who went on a killing spree across Nebraska with his supposed girlfriend in tow, after he killer her parents.
She served time in the State Pen here for quite sometime for her involvement, although she claims he kidnapped her at gun point.

i misread the original statement i think

Quote:
Stevens has announced plans to make an album for each of the 50 U.S. states, having begun the series with the albums Michigan (2003) and Illinois (2005).

Quote:
so m ward is going to make one album about all 50 states

Why, yes it is. But after further review he realized it was too daunting a task, so he whittled it down to one record titled Born In The USA.
It sucked.

Right now, I hear 2 noises :

1. My laughter

b. A rather loud "whooshing" sound.

Red -- There's also a Terence Malick flick called "Badlands" starring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek about Charles Starkweather.

Great album, but I think Ghost of Tom Joad makes it sound downright chipper.
