tonight i was walking home from the grocery store and it was cold, so there were gloves on my hands. my hands were full of groceries. my ipod, on shuffle, was deep inside some layer, practiaclly unreachable. it decides to hit me with guns n roses 'breakdown.'
first i reconsider. can i reach m ipod to skip it? no. fuck. isn't it like 7 minutes long at least?
ok, well, i am here to tell you that 'breakdown' was a gift. i'm not saying you don't have work to do if you revisit 'breakdown.' obviously the overdubed 'let me hear it now' over the chorus is an embarassment (as it was to me as a 16 year old as well), and there is axl's desperate struggle to be springsteen in long stretches. well, you have to look past all that and allow 'breakdown' to awkwardly rawk your face off...
i think the ipod does more harm than good to music lovers, but tongiht, it showed its strength.
please feel free to share your own stories of shuffle triumphs.
