Thursday's the big day when I lead a presentation to the paper's management about expanding the feature page I'm in charge of into a whole section. My part is actually not that large since my designers and the group members from marketing and advertising will talk about their roles and ideas, but I give the open and kind of quarterback the whole thing.

I'm not nervous because my committee has done great work and come up with lots of good ideas for what to add and how to market the section. Still, there's a lot riding on this and how it's received by the suits. If it goes well, we launch in a month, I get a whole new (cool) set of job duties and a killer addition to my resume.

So, fellow Obs, a little karma this way if there's any out there to spare — so The Chad keeps his cool and knocks 'em dead on Thursday. I promise to have a celebratory drink for every one of you who gets on the wagon.

I'll sacrifice a coin rack to appease the newspaper gods at sundown tonight. If I can't see the sun setting due to snow, I'll just guess.

I'll also toss some "success at work" vibes I've seem to have in abundance these past few weeks.

I will burn a magazine as tribute to your newspaper gods, Tecky. Nothing makes Gods happier than a sacrifice...

Thanks Phil,
I don't know if I wanted anyone to go to quite that trouble. But if you're gonna grill it anyway then I'd say "It's on!"

I'll dance funnily next to Lambchop along with flinging my arms to the gods and speaking in tongues for the ultimate positive vibes.

Time to turn off the Haterade spiggot that's been running non-stop today and spread some love and thanks to my Obs.

The presentation this afternoon went fabulously - I'd say we knocked it out of the park. We covered all our bases, had answers for all of management's questions and gave them a product and marketing/advertising strategy they couldn't say no to. That was kinda weird; all these young staffers - I'm the 2nd-oldest @ 26 - coming up with a major new product and them loving it.

So it looks like we'll start publishing in mid-March, which is the only bummer because that puts the kibosh on my hopes of going to SXSW this year. Dang.

But still, a fantastic day. And to fulfill my earlier promise to you all I will imbibe 14 drinks in your honor beginning at 10 pm.
Thanks, thanks and thanks some more.
w00t!
