I just found out that one of the most respected biologists in . . . well, Biology is willing to take me on as his new Ph.D. student this fall. As soon as I hear back from the graduate school, I'm in.

I am going to do a lot of drinking tonight, ladies and germs!

p.s. this means that I will probably be an Austinite for the next 6 years - now I really need to find a band.

Congrats, Colin, that's huge! I'll bet I've never heard of him, but biology has always been essential to my life, so I can certainly appreciate the achievement.

Fuck yeah, my brutha!

Any chance you could get involved in some kind of study on the effects of Krylon on humans? I know a few willing test subjects....

Good job, man....
There's nothing wrong with Austiniting yourself for another 6...
Also, the drinking thing is WAY underrated, even on this board...

Who is your potential supervisor? Is he one of those Nature/Science types with an average impact factor of a billion or so?

Yeah, he's one of them there MacArthur "genius grant" type-people. And a nice guy, to boot. I'm pretty psyched.

I might break open a bottle of Bartlett Winery's Blueberry Cuvee (I was saving for birthday/anniversary), some homebrew, go buy some liquor . . . at this point the sky (well . . . my wallet) is the limit.
