so, this is what it's like. It's too quiet around here.

One more week and I'll have service again.

I cancelled my cable about a week ago after having tried it out again for a month. I usually just buy DVDs of a particular TV series that I like and they keep me happy for a while.

Right now I'm currently hooked on DS9 and Arrested Development. :D

Well, I should also point out that I record The Daily Show and The Colbert Report at my parents' house using their digital recorder and watch them when I visit every week.

There is much more to life than watching cable. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

I finally ditched cable last month for a computer loaded up with 2 HD tuner cards, a nice sound card, and Beyond TV software for Tivo-like capability with no monthly fees. $75 a month for the most basic Comcast DVR service was just not worth it for me, and I don't have any other provider options in my area. Satellite is not a good option due to the location and layout of my building.

My remote broke. I might as well be living without cable.

If you had tivo, you might not have cable.
I'd trade cable for an extra 4 cd's a month anyday.

Let me also add that I don't have rabbit ears for my TVs either. I've been watching my morning local news with a fuzzy picture.

It's not been bad really being that I've not been home much this month. And, today has been spent cleaning out the hall closet which was in sore need of organization. Have lotsa new stuff to add for my yard sale in March.

You made me chuckle. :)

Bob, if I were remotely talented in music, I would.

At least it's been a productive day. The bed has fresh linen. The hall closet looks and smells great. There's a load of laundry in the washer. I've got a huge bag for Goodwill. A big box for the next yard sale. Though, I still need to finish folding and put away clothes.

I'm off to the bank (hopefully no one will jump me while depositing and extracting funds at this hour) and buy some dinner.

Been living without cable now for quite some time. Netflix, and the buying of the occassional tv season keeps me happy. Plus, anything I really want to watch I can either a)catch it on the web b)get someone to tivo it and pop it to DVD.

I refuse to pay the outlandish fees for the basic setup.

If my lady would let me, I'd get rid of cable during the summer..I only need it for Hockey and Football in the winter.
