Where should I go? Just got a huge tax refund, have heard nothing but bad news from every person I know in the world for weeks, and just finished a big deadline.

AA says last-minute deals to Seattle, Salt Lake, Tahoe, Montreal, Toronto, someothers. Votes? Only ever been to Montreal, and didn't seem super friendly, but I was there for work.

EDIT: Seattle wins - recs?

I would only want to do lame cross-country, probably. I bet the denver crowd are not up for my mad, NC-honed downhilling skillz.

If you're not going skiing somewhere, go someplace warm.

Eh, we're getting warm for the next millenium, don't you read the news? I grew up with warm, I'm over it. Seattle does sound possible.

Somehow this didn't have enough rhetorical flourish to sell me.

I know there are some Seatellites hereabouts.

I'm jealous. I've always wanted to see that city.

Booked. I always wanted to see it too. Getting out - Friday morning. Anyone around, let me know, otherwise I'll wave at you from the space needle or whatever.

I've got to get out of the city so I've convinced myself I'm getting out of here no matter what the weather is this weekend. I'll be going to the village of Ballachulish which is basically the four buildings at the bottom of this mountain.

If the weather is good enough I'll do some climbing, if not I'll just stick to the glens and go for a long tramp. Right now the forecast is 60% chance of sun with some snow showers on the hills, here's hoping!
