So i will watch anything. this is a fact, consequently borne out by the fact that
The Forgotten shows up at my house yesterday. i've read the reviews, but i'm thinking hey, i can watch julianne moore for a few hours and how bad can it really be. i'm expecting some sort of sci-fi body-snatchers,
Dark City (which i would call an underrated classic, save for the fact that everyone calls it that, which belies that people seem to know how awesome it was/is) sort of surreal, treatise on the nature of our reality sort of movie. indeed, that's what the premise tries to lead you to believe. however, it's my feeling now that this is in fact a movie simply about how freakin' crazy women are, and is in fact an indictment by a particularly chauvenistic but clever director who conned Moore into taking on a part that she THOUGHT was a strong female character and was, in fact, a movie about delusional women and their relationship towards the maternal urge. at least, it would have been a much better movie had someone done this deliberately. i guess what i'm saying is don't feel bad if you never, ever see the forgotten.
