well, it's about damn time they posted something like this... it's been in the death throes for about a month or more now. It was fun while it lasted. I would love to see something take its place, so we can continue to share. I just can't rely on Soulseek anymore.

For your info, Soulseek has been going through the pains of growing. The search function was unusable and the message board was blazing. They have been tweaking it and updating the software. They might have fixed it, as the last two days have been outstanding. 100’s of hits came back to me and found the new Low album with no problem whatsoever. I thought everyone was going to list only set up but that is not the case. I’m sure the record companies will shut it down sometime this year, but for now you can’t beat the selection.

BTW, “obner” room has started but there were over a handful of us in ‘CMJ Room” last night as well.

np: Decemberists - new one

thanks for the suggestion. it would be if it was easier to use. check the installation instructions and youll see that its fairly complicated. they also seem to be just distributing the source code, so that makes things more complicated. im also a little concerned with it being a 0.1 release, meaning its in a very early stage. so, as far as i can tell, we have three options. we can go back to using waste, which, as far as im concerned, is a waste of time, since its tough to run and im a little concerned that the newest versions havent been updated in six months, something a little unusual for an open source project, or someone could volunteer a computer and a quick internet connection to set up a direct connect hub. or someone could find another program to use, like soulseek.

We could always set up a direct connect group. Sketch and the other uberites are familiar with how it works.

I'll give it another go. I haven't used it in the past couple of days, but it's been difficult finding stuff prior to that. And I thought I was looking for fairly accessible stuff, like Fischerspooner, French Kicks, et. al.

Not off-hand, but I or someone else could research this.
