So basically, by the time the new LCD Soundsystem comes out for real I will be entirely sick of it and will have moved on in my life.

I banned myself from listening to any leaked '07 releases (anymore) until I settle my '06 list.

But so far The Shins and Menomena are early front-runners.

oh, that Menomena is 2007? Guess that explains why I havent seen it on people's lists. Pretty decent album though.

I love how they have a "source" for the new G 'n R. That got a laugh out of me.

2007 is looking like a solid year for releases. January starts off with a bang with new CYHSY, Deerhoof, Of Montreal and Shins. Last year the only talked about release in January was The Strokes I think.

heard the shins. a little disappointed, but i'll revisit that once i buy a real copy. heard some of the Of Montreal, made me think of their 2nd-to-last album. i'm waiting til 2007 to hear deerhoof and hope cyhsy comes to emusic (along with deerhoof & of montreal).

The 1st thing I'm stoked for is Lucinda Williams on 2/13

Then

3/6 El-p and Son Volt
3/20 Ted Leo and maybe the Stooges

Then the rest of the year... Arcade Fire, Cannibal Ox, Dino Jr., Fountains Of Wayne, Doves, Interpol, Mad Villian, Magnetic Fields, Les Savvy Fav, MIA, Modest Mouse, The Natural, New Pornographers, QUOTSA, RADIOHEAD !!!!!, Roxy Music(original line up w/Eno..yikes), Shellac(finally!)Spritualized, Spoon (psyched FT ?),Velvet Revolver(yes I love em'), WILCO and WRENS !!!

Peace

I've heard that about Shins but I'm still excited about it. I haven't listened to Deerhoof or Of Montreal in the past but know they are big releases. If they show up on eMusic I'll likely grab them. If not, I won't unless I hear good things.

The rest of the year looks promising but so does every year before it actually comes. If Wilco and Radiohead actually release albums, this will mark the biggest year of music in recent memory for me. The fact that Dinosaur Jr and Arcade Fire are coming out with new material automatically makes 2007 a better year than the last two.

Supposedly we get a new Spoon album and a Britt Daniel solo album. If this actually happens + Radiohead + Deerhoof + Arcade Fire + Madvillain... :rawr:

this could shape up to be a big year if all this sh|t comes out and make for a tough decision if past album-of-the-year winners wilco, radiohead and modest mouse all put out in 2007. don't touch my saliva.
