The put on a set that was better than I expected after hearing the dissappointing album they put out together last year.

I mean, I love listening to both of them: Emmylou's voice, and Mark's guitar – but I just really kinda settled into the show last night. Nothing that got me really riled up or bouncing around, but surprisingly pleasant.

Nice.

And fucking Mark Knopflker, man. Damn I love that guy.

Anyone else see the show?

I didn't but have long been a Knopfler fan. I'm interested in why you feel like the release was disappointing. I haven't heard it in full but have considered picking it up several times. I'll keep an eye out for repeat of last night's show. Thanks for the head's up.

Nice. I could imagine pleasant would describe it best.

I watched a bunch of clips from Rockpalast on You Tube the other day. Small venue and early Dire Straits just before the Incomunique release. That was some good watching.

I just found it a little bland. Too AOR. Solid craftsmanship, without much to really set it apart. There are a couple of good songs; all are very well-written and performed, but only a couple were vaugely memorable.

Maybe it needs a couple more listens, but I don' really see it growing on me all that much more. Too bad, because I really want it to.

Yeah, I have to admit after being extremely excited about it, I got a bit tired of it after a while. It just wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be, not what you'd think those two could put together. Some of it was a little too cutesy. The live album/DVD from that tour has some better spots where she handles backing vocals on his older material, but the MK/EH album material still doesn't work so well - but better than on the album. They've got a great live band, however.
