I bought haha sound a while back and slept on it. A few weeks back I picked up a used copy of extended play 2, and now I can't get enough of this band. I went to their website http://broadcast.uk.net and found a few things of interest to broadcast fans:

1. new album coming out this year
2. they have some radio mixes of songs they like. I listened to most of the fourth one, and enjoyed it a lot. It kind of sucks because they put each one into one long track, so it's hard to keep up with who you are listening to.

hi, i'm new.

New album, eh? Sweet! Hopefully, they'll tour for that as well.

Welcome to the board, Fancy.

I just recently got Haha Sound not too long ago; While I love all the songs on there, I do think that their production sort of lacks at certain points where it should have made the song brilliant. And the end of the disc has waayyyy too many interludes. Other than that, it's ace.

Cool to hear that they're getting ready to put out a 3rd LP, maybe they'll actually update their damn webpage now...

my sister lent me Haha Sound a couple of months back and i listened to it once, forgot about it, and then dusted it off a couple of weeks later, and it's been rotating solidly ever since. Great album, quite different from most things i hear these days, without being groundbreaking.

Plus, you have to admit that singer Trish is pretty hot.

My brother gave me a broadcast mix cd about a year ago that I listened to solidly for a couple months. I still don't know which tracks are from what cd, but it's good stuff. Welcome to obner.

I fully endorse the above sentiments regarding bradcast.

Interesting, I actually kinda like the interludes. It may just be that I really like interludes in general. Sometimes they seem to be ideas that the musician never fully developed, like in aesop rock - float (I love this album, just talking about the interludes). Often, they just seem perfect, like if it was developed any further or turned into a whole song it would sound labored.

Anyway, I like broadcast in part because I think that if the femme-bots from austin powers formed a band, this is how they would sound.

that's about as apt a description of a band you could ever make.

New album? awesome! I wasn't really looking forward to HaHa Sound when I heard the Pendelum EP but ended up really liking it. Thanks for reminding me, I think I'll dig it out.

The new album is one of the few that I am legitimately anticipating this year. Any band that toes the line between Stereloab and Blonde Redhead (two of my favorites) as well as they do will as a rule always rate pretty high in my book.

I went to see Broadcast about a year ago, and was dissapointed. It wasn't their fault, however, they sounded fine. Unfortunately they had Manitoba open up for them, and Manitoba was awesome. Broadcast just couldn't compete with that much energy.
