You should definitely get your hands on a copy of the new Dark Tranquility album entitled "Character". Storming release, clean production, and really technical.

Can some one tell me who Mastodon sound like? I'm kinda picky about my metal.

Mastodon are a little hard to pin down. Overall, they have a fairly old school thrashy sound with moderately growly vocals. But they seem to have mastered just about every style of metal known to man. So, some songs sound more technical, some a little more just focused on the big riff. On their older stuff more than Leviathan, there's also just a twinge of a swampy, southern rock vibe, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, if the new Dark Tranquility is anything like Damage Done, I'm all over it. I saw them live once and it was amazingly cheesy. But I still love them.

el, it's similar to damage done, but a little heavier, and the production is more powerful. there's some great riffs on this album.

i also bought the latest hypocrisy, which is equally brutal.

hail swedish metal!
