(NEW YORK, NY) -- Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush has unveiled details of its upcoming new album, entitled "SNAKES & ARROWS." The renowned rock trio's first new collection of original material in nearly five years, the album will be released on May 1st.

"SNAKES & ARROWS" was recorded in the fall of 2006 with Grammy Award-winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver) and Rush co-producing. The album's first single, "Far Cry," will impact at rock radio outlets nationwide in mid-March.

Rush -- Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart -- will trumpet the release of "SNAKES & ARROWS" with a full-scale North American tour, the band's first since 2004's "An Evening with Rush: 30th Anniversary Tour." Further details about this summer's tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

That'd be a win/win situation for all of us as I imagine you'd be more even-tempered and friendlier as an eunuch.

I got into Rush starting with their first live disc, and started to get out around the time of Signals. Have not really heard anything I liked since.

But, I appreciate the post, and will check out the song.

Can they really be called prog anymore? :?:

And is Peart almost smiling in that pic??!!??!!?? Woah.

Nope, they haven't been prog in 30 years, since Hemispheres.

Yep, believe it or not, Neil actually has a sense of humor. He just doesn't use it enough.

Thanks for this Timis, but before anyone thinks this is a CD-quality rip, this file appears to be the same 96kbps file that was downloaded off the official site on Monday, which someone stupidly re-encoded at 320kbps, but it shows as 5 seconds longer than the one I got on Monday. Sounds identical, however - very lo-fi, unfortunately.

Good song, but nothing surprising - pretty much what I was expecting following Vapor Trails. Just much, MUCH better mixing/production.

"Workin' Them Angels" is very worrisome. This is the title of a very bad poem found in Neil's book, Traveling Music. I'm really hoping it simply shares the title or has been significantly reworked because it was AWFUL. And before anyone else says anything, "Malignant Narcissism" is one of the three instrumentals on the album. My guess is that "The Main Monkey Business" and "Spindrift" are the other two.

I like prog. But very specific prog. Rush is rarely in that specific.
