QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE TO COMMEMORATE EXPANDED FIRST ALBUM REISSUE WITH 14 NORTH AMERICAN DATES

Posted by IGAadmin on Feb 14, 2011 | Comments (7) | Views: (5181)

Queens Of The Stone Age will celebrate the March re-release of its expanded, remastered self-titled debut with a limited run of North American shows. These one-time only events will feature the band playing the entire first album plus additional material from that same early Queens era, as well as nightly surprises. Customers who buy tickets will have the opportunity to pre-order the reissue, and will receive an instant digital download of the record with their pre-orders—nearly a month out from the record’s commercial release.

QOTSA will take the first record tour to Europe in May, with additional US and Canada dates to be added in June.

I thought they could play a bigger venue than this. First date?

I can't decide if I want to go to this. I love them, but it'll be my first time seeing them. And the whole album bit has got me on the fence.

I think I'd be more apt to go see The Eagles of Death Metal. But, its interesting they're playing Bombingham and Bottletree is supposed to be a great club-type venue.

Eagles of Death Metal is an amazing live show.

I've not seen Queens, and I'm tempted... but like thisotherkingdom, I'm unsure about the whole album concert format. The first time I see them I want it to be a mixture of everything. Still, the Philly date has been filed in my memory. We'll see!

If this was Saturday I'd fucking do it.

Saw them at the 40 Watt in Athens in 2003 when they were touring behind "Songs For The Deaf" and they had Lanegan in tow. They were absolutely incredible. That last album didn't do much for me but I'd see these dudes again.

I've also seen Eagles of Death Metal since then and they weren't in the same league.

QOTSA is fucking killer live, and I've heard Eagles of Death Metal leave a lot to be desired. As a correction, they're playing Workplay in B'Ham. It has a 900 cap room vs. Bottletree's 275 cap.

Joey Castillo

Grohl hasn't played with them since 2001.

Surprised they are going to Asheville, if I was still there I'd go for sure. For such a small city it sure is getting more big acts, especially whenever I'm not there.

Also, no DC/Baltimore which I found odd. 9:30 and Ram's Head must've been booked.
