you'll REALLY hate this!!!
Dogbowl - "Walking Away" (from Flan)

Dogbowl - "One-Wheel" (from his NEW album, Songs For Narcisse)
Code:

The second one will probably appeal to more of you. I have yet to get that new album, but the album the first one comes from is a twisted masterpiece. Flan is a rock opera that sounds like it was composed through collaboration between Capt. Beefheart, Benny Goodman, and Andrew Lloyd Weber.

Dogbowl are actually very good.

Todd's a shitty cheerleader.

It's a defense mechanism -- I've been trained to expect the backlash.

Oh, and Dogbowl is "he", not "they". But I'm glad that you like him. Used to be in King Missle, you know.

I don't think I hate these bands as much as I do you finding the need to continuously bring up the same ones over and over and over again. God knows we all need more variety in life than this. If these were bands or artists that was constantly putting out new material or had lots of responses by Obners attesting to their superior greatness then I could understand and be more accepting of it. But when you're practically holding up these ragged, worn threads yourself then well, yeah....the shit gets pretty goddamn old and at your age you should realize this. I respect your earnestness and devotion here but at the same time I think you should give certain topics a rest, no?

Not to be mean, but I get it Todd. You really like Brisnley Scwartch, Dogbowl, and the one-man Beatle.

And thanks for defending me Tom, but I'm cool.

Honestly, I do. I readily admit that without PopTodd this place would be much less appealing.

"Walking Away":

Weird. Kind of obnoxious. This guy reminds me of David Baker, who used to be in Mercury Rev, but with a 12-year-old butt-humor obsession.

It isn't bad. It's compositionally kind of interesting, and I can see where you get the Beefheart-meets-showtunes RIYL. I don't know where Benny Goodman comes in, though.

I guess the Goodman thing comes from the prominent clarinet in a bunch of songs. But I'm glad that you dug it.
