I don't understand the sentiment of this spot. I mean "I get it" but I don't understand why you would bash someone because they are more traditional in their beliefs.

I despise that almost as much as the real Mac commercials. But, I don't think it is about bashing people for being more traditional in beliefs. I think it is making the point that being a "christ-follower" isn't about going to church in a tie every sunday. Legalism/dogma vs. the philosophy of Christ is what I think they're trying to get across.

I mean I know there are many "modern" Christians who feel like they are looked down upon because of their new-fangled beliefs, but you know I bet they are more upset at being viewed as bible-thumping freaks. Really, that's a Christian problem--image. These serve no purpose other than to possibly draw a line, or to confuse outsiders.

yeah. I feel ya. It's one of the many many problems within the "church" these days. I mean, I guess this sort of thing goes back hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The whole Catholicism to Protestantism to 8 billion denominations. "Denomination" is just a fancy word for "ain't none of us can get along with each other, let alone with the infidels".
