RIYL Murder by Death / Velvet Underground

Spin's band of the day.... I have been following these guys for a while, great performers, the lead singer has a haunting voice that sticks with me long after I finish listening. Couple that with a harmonium as the driving instrument and these guys have a pretty unique sound. Highly recommend checking them out if you are in NYC

I like it.

I'm guessing the "RIYL Clap Your Hands Say Yeah" omission was calculated? I'm guessing there will be 100% overlap between the people who hate CYHSY and this band.

I can see some slight similarity, but not sure it is as glaring for me as you.

it took me about ten seconds to declare
that this band was actually clap your hands say yeah

I fear that I've 74'd this thread with my CYHSY comparison. Maybe I should have waited a couple posts.

i saw the RIYL and clicked it thinking it would sound like CYHSY before i read your reply

ooh, i like this. the one thing i love about living in ny now is the amount of fantastic local bands to discover... it's almost overwhelming. granted there were a lot of great local bands in la, but the scene is a LOT smaller.
