I saw them tonight, and would say they are pretty good. It was catchy pop/rock, with a little psychedelic swirl just for kicks. They remind me a little of the Starlight Mints, except way more spunky. I think somebody in the band is from Of Montreal.

Milwaukee's own Trusty Knife played right before them, and they ruled, as usual.

Yup. I've never seen them.

I think I saw them open for the Apples in Stereo. Dude's voice was way annoying.

Maybe it wasn't them? Their gig archive doesn't show them ever having played with Apples In Stereo. Anyway, at the show I went to, there was a lot of group singing and harmonizing.

Speaking of singing, the guy from Trusty Knife has something special going on. He's like a mix 60's garage, motown, mick jagger and van morrison (if that makes any sense at all). He also does a more punk rock shout at times.

So, he's Greg Dulli?

Yeah, I just ran across them a few weeks ago whilst looking for random mp3s.

Here are a few:

That must have been them then. The Casper site only listed shows through 2006. Looks like 2007 is a busy touring year for them. I don't think I'll be getting the album, but I would like to see them live again.

Man, maybe it was the pale ales that were making everything sound so good that night. He's got such classic stage presence too. I would like to see them do something like Mercy Mercy by the Stones.

Monty, I caught a little bit of the Arrested Development show at UWM on Saturday. It was very sad that nobody came to see them. I will admit the only reason I went was I had a pass to see Black Elephant, who opened, but still Speech is from Milwaukee and all.

Man, you've always struck me as more a Juiceboxxx* sort than an Arrested Development sort. (Also, when you mentioned A.D., I figured that you meant that Jason Bateman or something was speaking at UWM. & I'm saddened that you didn't. Next, you'll tell me that you don't like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, & that Dave Tvrdik is a recovering alcoholic & loves the cock.)

& keep me posted about the next The! Scarring! Party! show. I won't show up, but it'll be nice to know. Nice to know you've given up on bringing the rock. Admitting you have a problem -- not rocking, in your case -- is the first step to recovery.

* Since you apparently like the bold.
