About a month ago I noticed that every picture that is more then a year old in our My Pictures on our computer is shrunken in size. We're talking avatar shrunken, maybe even smaller then that.

We have NO idea how this could have happened as neither of us did this.

I've tried all the photo programs that we have to see if I can restore the size to them somehow and that isn't working. Either this is impossible to do or I'm doing something wrong.

Is there anyone out there who may be able to help us?? Many if not most of the photos are irreplaceable.

I would appreciate any advice I could get. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me, but then i went to the eye doctor, and I bought a mac, and damned if everything's been cool since.

But seriously, i've got no clue.

Sucks.

Can't think of any reason that would happen and I've never heard of it happening to anyone else.

well I'm pretty sure the "automatic" thumbnails that are generated are still being referenced correctly. Either the original files got moved or deleted or named something differently. Thus, the thumbnails no longer "point" to original files. Just search for the name of the files on the thumbnails. If you can't find them after that, and you're sure you didn't rename them something else, they're probably gone.
