Wirtz May Sell?

Thought this was interesting. For those of you in Chicago that enjoy hockey, I hope this happens and that Wirtz gets the hell outta dodge.

This would be the best thing to happen to hockey in Chicago since...
ever.

IF the guy is so damn worried about the bottom line, why the hell doesn't he sign a big, fat, full-season contract with WGN or WFLD here in Chicago and use then to market the SHIT out of his team?

Dumbass.

This would be awesome. The NHL needs the 3rd biggest market back in the game. I hate it when people use Chicago & Boston as examples of Original Six markets who no longer like hockey. No, those 2 markets just hate giving money to North America's two worst owners. There isn't a fanbase in sports those two couldn't scare away.

Between the sports that can sign local TV contracts, MLB, NBA & NHL, is there another owner who has taken the stance as Wirtz has in saying TV will cost him at the gate?

Well that's the good news if it happens & the bad news

NOTE: The Star has learned the NHL is in talks with director Jerry Bruckheimer about producing next season's all-star game. Bruckheimer's credits include the TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and the movies Top Gun and Pirates of the Caribbean.

haha. yeah, I saw that.

I guess there's gonna be some crazy 'splosions at next year's ASG.

Wirtz truly is an idiot. D. Savard and Dale Tallon were all at the Norfolk Scope where the Admirals play last night for game 4 of the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs. I wanted to go up to Dale Tallon (CBH GM) and say, "Hey Dale, way to fuck things up this year!". :)
