WORST REQUEST OF THE WEEK

(Guy commenting on my “Creed Sucks” t-shirt): Creed doesn’t suck.
(Me) Yes, they do.
(Him) No, they don’t.
(Me) Yes, they do.
(Him) Whatever, man. Do you have any Chris Daughtry from American Idol?

WEDNESDAY 3-PACK

This week’s free three-song download of new music features:

Matthew Dear - Neighborhoods: Minimalist dance music from the Michigan’s DJ’s “Asa Breed,” out June 5th.

Dinosaur Jr. – Almost Ready: My new favorite song is from the reunited trio’s latest release, “Beyond.”

Shout Out Louds – Tonight I Have To Leave It: Does this sound exactly like the Cure’s “In-Between Days”? Yes, it does. But how sweet is that?

THINGS THAT FRIGHTEN ME

The survival of Internet radio is in jeopardy because of a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC to almost triple the licensing fees for Internet radio sites. The new royalty rates are irrationally high, more than four times what satellite radio pays (broadcast radio doesn't pay these at all.) Left unchanged, these new royalties will kill every Internet radio site. Is the top 50 in order of your favorite or most played? Probably a stupid question, just wondering.

Good to see 'Beyond' in the top-5 either way.

Go friend them on myspace. They post new songs all the time. And plus Adam's really, really cute.

Edit: Coconut Records... heard of them (him?). It's Jason Schwartzman's new project and it's lovely. Friend him, too. He's also really, really cute.

Ha, awesome. Thanks for posting this... didn't know he was up to anything. It sounds pretty good. Somewhere between Phantom Planet and Elliott Smith (i.e. heavy beatles influence). It's kind of amusing to hear him singing, since his singing voice isn't very different from his speaking voice, so I just picture his goofy mug.

His song "Back to You" sounds like the Pixies a little. Love it.

My new "must have" checklist for potential boyfriends now includes "must be awkward like 'Jeremy' from Shopgirl"

It's my understanding that this is the advance single for the new album, which will be import only for the forseeable future.
