So, yeah, I love "Side with the Seeds."

First song. . . sounds incredible. Nothing "overproduced" about it.

yeah, this is mind blowing great so far

Overproduced in the old sense... string orchestras "sweetening" the sound has always sorta annoyed me.

Up to "seeds" it's actually pretty tastefully produced, none of the "adult contemporary scratchy noise" from YHF and Ghost

"Shake it off" sounds like he's back on oxy... but I am liking these "big transitions" bridges and breaks.

I had to stop - I want to save the surprise for when it comes out. I gave myself a taster of each song and that's it. This is going to be a hard one to beat come year-end list time.

really loved this first go around and hope it holds up.

Loved it... sometimes sounding like the Dead, sometimes like Serge Gainsborough, sometime sounding like Lee Ritenour.... but mostly sounding like Wilco. Best of the year so far, no question.

I'm really diggin' this...trying to record the stream but giving up after 20 minutes wasted. Anybody get this to work??

S'okay. It's good to hear Tweedy getting mildly interested in melody again, and Cline does some interesting things - but he also does some godawful lite-jazz bullshit that would make George Benson roll his eyes.

But whatever. It's soft rock and your dad can whistle along to it. Might as well give this one to Shmoo right now as the Obner #1 of '07, and then we only have to compile a Top 19 for the next shmoople.

There's a couple songs that openly suck, but I'm overall pretty positive so far.

Also, gauche, take that link to the whole album out of this thread if you don't mind...
