ALL I NEED TO MAKE QUESADILLAS ARE AN OLD IRON SKILLET AND THE SOUL OF A 90 YEAR OLD ABUELA.

My mom and I always laugh when we see those quesadilla makers. I mean, really...what does it take to put two tortillas and fill it with stuff and lay it on a gridle? We can't believe people actually spend good money for them.

Yeah, is flipping it over so difficult? These are unnecessarily large appliances for what they achieve.

That's exactly what I'm having tonight, except I don't have the nice gadget, I just use the oven, set at about 450-500 for about 10 minutes. It gets the job done.

Time...effort...and the ability to watch your quesadilla cook...

If I want a quesadilla, I want it NOW!

P.S. does anyone know why quesadillas are so damned expensive at restauraunts/fast food places/ect? I mean, I know cheese can get expensive(ish), but come on...

More tastier.

agreed.
this is one of the huge things i miss about chicago. there, i was able to go to the corner store and get fresh, warm tortillas every other day.
here, there's only one halfway decent mexican restaurant in town so i go every tuesday to pick up 2 dozen corn tortillas fresh from them. yum.
love, love, love 'em.

Overrated? You've obviously not had quality torts, m'friend. The kind that are piping hot, fresh off the gridle, begging for a pat of butter...you bite into it and it melts in your mouth. Mmmm.

Yeah...I had to pick up something earlier than I usually do...
It's all about the queso (on a slice of pizza, that is)...

and dillas might greatly define the texture/taste, but the queso is what makes it all worth while...

I make quesadillas in three ways:

1 Basic two flour tortillas, beans, cheese.
2 Basic+ two flour tortillas, beans, cheese, sprinkle lime juice on quesadilla while cooking, garnish with sour cream and salsa.
3 Uber quesadilla two flour tortillas, beans, two types of cheese, fried onions and peppers, fried in melted butter and lime juice and cumin, garnished with sour cream, salsa, and avocado.
