Went back home to Bmore this weekend, and while there headed on out to Ikea. Picked up the Expedit system as per Drinky (I think) rec. Put it together this evening, and am completely in love with it. All my vinyl is now accessible and I don't have to volley for position whilst going through milkcrates, which by the way, I now have 13 just hanging out in my apt. This is great. Only problem, its almost filled up completely.

ah, crap maybe it was you who told me. Anyway, I got the $129 one, whichever that is. I think its the 5x5. I'm thinking the 2 cubes I have remaining, I'm going to buy the bins they sell and put my 7"s in there, which I have a ton of.

Ah, IKEA. Saturday, after like four attempts, they finally had the glass doors in stock for my records, replacing the ad hoc pile of crap to keep the cat from scratching 'em.

they have bins for 7"s? i have been on a 7" tear this year (see purchase thread) and my box is now full. they're lined up around my living room now. i was looking at one of the odyssey cases, but i don't have anywhere to put it down flat and i don't want them to be stacked. i will have to check that out.

I built what I thought was a pretty damn big thing to store records on, but it's full and I filled another one about half the size.

I need to start building again.

Here's the box that fits perfectly the Expedit. I really liked how they were set up at Ikea.

Unfortunately, you have to buy them in-store.
