My fiancee's looking to buy some cologne for her brother. He's always wearing some stuff that she thinks is really obnoxious, and she wants to sort of help him out and get him something decent.

I don't really wear cologne so I don't have any ideas. She wants something light, with sort of a "clean" scent, that also seems "young". So… any suggestions?

Don't know if it fits the categories you listed, but I always like Hugo Boss and women seem to dig it as well...

What does the brother think about this, I mean you say that she thinks his cologne is obnoxious and that she wants a clean scent that seems young, but I mean maybe he like obnoxious perfume, I personally think that people shouldn't do stuff like this unless they are asked for help. Although what do I know, he might smell really bad

Doesn't the scent of a cologne vary depending on who wears it?

Might smell good on one person, not so great on another?

I use the aftershave balm, and I concur. Nothing even approaches it.

I very very occasionally wear Armani Mania, which I think fits the bill well enough.

It sounds like his problem is probably just that he's wearing too much. Very few colognes are really obnoxious when applied with appropriate moderation.

Like perfume it can be used obnoxiously. I figure the one I use is a fairly mild citron scent, not much different from a designer soap.

Besides, when you live in fairly hot & humid weather 8 months out of the year it gives one that eau de confidence and fresh and clean feeling.

I like Polo's new Double Black alot. Prada is pretty good too. I actually just use the after shave balms.

Yes. I'm with that chick in the commercial who says "I don't want to smell you from BACK HERE."

Cologne should be like women's makeup; if you know it's there from a mile away, you've done it wrong.

Folks tell me that college kids bathe in it, amazing the power of advertising.
