no I'm pretty unequivocally saying that they suck. is this why you're kickboxing so much, because of the vicious beatings people are handing you when you're listening to this?

The new Martin Newell just arrived at my doorstep.
Had a quick listen to the first couple of tracks and it sounds very good. More up, less jazzy than some of his recent stuff.

And this:
Quote:
neil young - live at massey hall

Is astonishing.

I'm pretty in love with that Midnight Juggernauts album. It's been on repeat here for a bit.

Neil Young's Massey Hall doesn't blow nor is it nonsense.

Iron & Wine, The Sheppard's Dog.

Just over half of that album is brilliant.

Love:
Bishop Allen
Loney, Dear
Okkervil River
White Rabbits
Elliott Smith

On the fence about (between like and love):
Iron & Wine

Disappointed with so far:
Shins
Spoon
Klaxons
Voxtrot (SO BORING--every song on M,S,D & W was better than any song on this)
Shout Out Louds (they mellowed out a bit too much)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (but need to give it a couple more chances)
Animal Collective (ditto)
Andrew Bird

Wow... I guess it's been a disappointing year, then.

I listened to it a lot at first, but it's not held up all that well. The only songs I really love are Sleeping Lessons, Australia, Phantom Limb, and Turn on Me. The rest I'm pretty bored with at this point.
