anyone a fan?
I picked up his "This Machine Kills Fascists" album and was pleasantly pleased with it. I dig most of the covers, though Highway Patrolman is a crash and burn upon arrival. The tracks in which are talking are interesting. From his working at an IRA bar in SF to meeting a German named Roland in the Alaskan wilderness, he's got some tales.
The guy is a folk singer in the truest sense. He's a troubadour, traveling all over the world. He's fairly political, which I like with my folkies.
The weird thing is, I cannot find much info on him. His website is down, and well, wikipedia just tells me what I already know.
I just went on a spending spree (woo $14!) at amazon's Z-Shops and picked up 4 of his albums. Emusic has 'em but I think this might be cheaper.
Will upload a sample when I get a second.
