Everybody's place has a distinctive odor. The problem is you can't usually pick up what your own place smells like.

This weekend a friend commented that our place smells like vanilla/listerine/dog. They said it wasn't unpleasant.

Anybody ever commented on what your place smells like?
Anybody have a friend/relative/whatever who's place has a distinctive smell?
Anybody willing to guess at what their place might smell like?

My body-odour wafts from my room, to which I largely contain myself (for obvious, lack-of-social-skills reasons) when not working either of my jobs, and sticks to all household surfaces.

My roommates hate me for this.

Obviously.

I never thought about this. I usually have some fragrant dried eucalyptus in our front room which is fairly strong. We're really self-conscious about the dog smell, so we try to keep the house (and the dogs) as clean as possible. I dunno... maybe something we've made for dinner?

Krylon, of course.

Also, spilt beer, dishsoap, and sunshine (Redlands is very open and airy. High ceilings, lots of light)

Kurtz will probably come up with something else, because we disagree about just about everything.

My bedroom has been smelling of sugared plum candles of late. As for the rest of the place... I have no idea. Dryer sheets maybe.

the smells of Bridgeport IPA, sex, wet towels, litter box, the wood burning in the fire, and quiet desparation.

We have this ionizer running to help with Ethan's allergies, so our house smells pretty strongly of ozone.

Imagine how it smells when you first step outside after a thunderstorm. That's the smell. I like it, my mom hates it... says that we all reek of it when we enter a room. Whatever. Helps my kids breathe better.

I steamed snow crab Saturday night. That smell, for which I have found NO antidote, floats right around eye level for days.

My place always smells like onions due to my cooking of pasta 2-3 times a week.

Fairly accurate; I will say that my side of Redlands smells better than the "guest" side where the Senator (and his cronies) stay.....

Spit-up.

Sorry, I hate the word "crib" for home.

Ours, usually whatever fragrance of those electric pump air fresheners that my wife has selected for that month. Right now it's kinda cinnamon/spice.

Yeah, this is full of "pimp-my-ride" style connotations...
My room has been smelling a bit dusty lately, so I've been leaving the windows open. It doesn't smell bad now but, when it does, I have the french vanilla candles and air freshener on tap.
