Atlanta considers banning baggy pants

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070823/ap_ ... ging_pants

"Baggy pants that show boxer shorts or thongs would be illegal under a proposed amendment to Atlanta's indecency laws.

The amendment, sponsored by city councilman C.T. Martin, states that sagging pants are an "epidemic" that is becoming a "major concern" around the country."

cue LooGAR...

I would have no problem with that.

I do not enjoy seeing men's underwear.

Yeah but it also would allow women to be fined if they revealed their thongs, wore sports bras in public, or even revealed their bra straps prominently.

It's an interpretive ordinance and it's bullshit if you ask me.

It's just another public figure spending too much time listening to his preacher and congregation IMO.

Pretty sure this'll be shot down post haste but who the hell knows.

Its a stupid law, but it won't last past its first challenge. It won't take long before someone will argue successfully that fashion (even bad fashion) is a form of protected expression.

What a waste of time and energy.
