got this in an email on the 15th... just now getting around to it:

Quote:
After an eighteen month hiatus - which Ollie and Gale spent writing and road-testing new material – Turin Brakes have just completed recording what will be their fourth album, entitled "Dark On Fire". The album was produced by the highly respected Ethan Johns, who has previously worked with Kings of Leon, Ray LaMontagne and Ryan Adams, amongst others.

Olly said of the new album: "A year and a half ago we came up with a new song called Ghost, it excited us because it was edgy and downright slinky like nothing before, it lit an inferno under our asses and propelled us into our 4th LP Dark On Fire, a brand new look into the human condition via the TB telescope."

The album will be released on the 17th September, preceeded by the single Stalker on 10th September.

The album tracklisting is as follows:

1. Last Chance
2. Ghost
3. Something In My Eye
4. Stalker
5. Other Side
6. Dark On Fire
7. Real Life
8. For The Fire
9. Timewaster
10. Bye Pod
11. Here Comes The Moon
12. New Star

The band will make their first festival appearance for two years when they play at the second Latitude Festival, alongside Arcade Fire; The Good, The Bad The Queen; Jarvis Cocker; and CSS. The band will be second headliner on the Uncut Stage on Saturday 14th July.

Interesting enough. I've always liked some of their stuff.

I haven't picked it up myself yet, Kit, so I can't say for sure. Based on those two tracks, it's not bad, but I'm not sure I'm gonna run out and buy it.
