Last Friday I felt the small shot of a headache. After work I had an easy night home with the family enjoying a few glasses of wine. Not thinking much of it by bedtime and feeling exhausted I readied myself for bed. That night, the forgotten headache quickly became more intense and eventually debilitating to a point which sleep was impossible. I was nearly immobile for the next few days. I never slept until Monday evening when at last I was able to get the correct drugs to nip it. This was an entire unending 72hr episode of excrutiating pain. I have had 104 degree fevers that seemed a cake walk to this. I still havve no idea what caused it, but if ever you feel this creeping intense pain over a "headache" get your doctor to prescribe pronto. Day 6 and I still feel the residual.

musical point: Fuck Yeah Tweedy, take all the pills you want if you have migraines that often. I would not swear this on anyone.

If any of you all suffer such I hope you have it under control.

Migraines suck, no doubt about it. But I've never had one that bad. Damn!

It's the worst... just had one two days ago. I get them about once every eight months. Used to get them monthly. Mine start with the blurry aura, then the headache followed by 3 hours of nausea. My sister gets them twice a week and has to inject drugs each time.

Imitrex is the miracle drug... no matter when you take it, 45 minutes later, it's gone with no hangover the next day.

Migraines always scare me -- you always hear about people dying of aneurysms and the migraines they suffered from right before having their brain explode.

My wife used to get horrible migraines. She took something called Imetrex(sp?) which would take care of it literally within minutes.

Sorry to hear that seafoam. My mom had migraines for years. I know what you're going through. It took years and a few different doctors to eventually find out what exactly triggered them. There are certain activities and foods that she had to avoid in order to not get them.

At one point she had a kit that let her administer her own shots for her migraines. She described some of the worse ones as worse than child birth.

Hope this was just a one time deal.

Yes, this is what I was talking about in my earlier post. My wife had this and it was easy even if you're squeamish about giving yourself a shot. Hold the "thingy" against a muscle and push the plunger down. Instant relief.

My mother used to get excruciating migraines, and very little (if any) in the way of medicatives would reduce the intensity. She would just have to hole up in her bedroom, the drapes pulled and shades drawn, all lights down, television off, for two or three days.

But, as she's aged and the duration and strength of her menstruation has decreased, so has the frequency of her migraine headaches.

So, once you hit that male menopause, you'll be good.

.

That's what I would like to do, but the pain is too intense to lay down, or even sit still.
