i just happened upon a wired article on amazon's new mp3 store. Looks like everything's DRM-free & 256kps. LCD's sound of silver can be bought for $5.99.

Whatcha think?

what they have in common with emusic is more expensive, but at $8.99 or less per mp3 album, i might go for this.

Good deals can be had on albums with few tracks but long songs - Fela Kuti comes to mind.

This is already gonna save me about $8...the new Wildhearts single comes out Monday, but I only need this 1 b-side. So that's 89 cents spent instead of $8.99 for the CD.

I agree. I hope more sites start selling lossless music for download. The only fairly decent one I've found so far is zunior.com. They sell albums in flac for $10.88, although their selection is mostly Canadian indie rock. It's good if you're a fan of Feist or Broken Social Scene though.

jesus what a rip off. i mean i agree its nice to buy a tough to find CD for $11 without tax or shipping, but how can we be stupid enough to pay that much PURE PROFIT for something. Make it $5.99 and people will give up downloading.
