I saw them from very far away at a less-than-ideal venue, but I wasn't that impressed. The songs were only sort of recognizable and I felt like they got a little wanky with some of them.

Saw them 3 years ago, again back in May and again last night.

Is your brother a fan of the band? Then tell him to go. If he's completely uninitiated, he won't like it unless he's already a fan of fragmented music like Black Dice. They kind of came across as Black Dice-lite with vocals last night. Pulsing beats and whatnot.

Live, the songs are kind of in live "re-mix" mode and don't really sound the like album versions, a trait that I really like, but for people going in to hear them play through Feels or Strawberry Jam, it ain't happenin'.

They're the new Americana. An answer to and a cure for jam bands. They road-test new material ahead of album recording, so it's always fresh. Apparently, the lights on this tour are great, but I couldn't make it to see what they were in town, and I'm struggling to live it down.

Is everyone on stage? Heard a 1 or 2 members were touring with them, but were waiting in the wings.

Josh Dibb aka Deakin isn't touring with them.

i downloaded a discography and it came with 4 live shows. i listened to one of the more recent ones with songs i knew and it was pretty terrible. the sound was bad though so i shouldn't hold it too much against them. i just think most of the studio stuff is so spot on that it couldn't be accurately recreated live the way they try to do things. i'd still go see them but i wouldn't be expecting the world

I saw them a week and a half ago when they were in Vancouver. Never seen them before, but it was one of those shows that my friends and I talked and talked and talked about on the journey home after the show.

I would see them again in a heartbeat and can't wait till they come through my neck of the woods again.

Go see them, I LOVED it.

This is all very true. The songs are sometimes totally unrecognizable, but I found the performance to be so good that this didn't matter at all.

Saw them about a year ago. They walked off stage after playing only 3 songs 'cause the singer had a "sore throat".

We was robbed.

I saw them on Monday night. It was the loudest show I've ever been to. I love their music, but honestly, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would live b/c I think they try to do a bit too much on stage, which (at least at this venue) translated into a large overbearing mush of sound. But it was still fun. And they closed with "Leaf House" and "We Tigers" which, for me anyway, made the entire thing more than worthwhile.

If most of their live show was closer to the way they perform "We Tigers", they'd be one of my favorite live acts.

And yeah, I didn't think they were all that loud (saw them touring after Sung Tongs and Feels).

I'm planning on attending the Boris show here in Atl., btw.
