So, I went in for a 10-year, follow-up MRI to check how my MS was doing. Good news is, it's doing great. Bad news is, I have something called a "Cavernous Angioma" - basically a group of blood vessels that's tangled in my brain. Apparently it's new in the last 10 years and has started leaking in the last few months. And while there's a "less than a 10% chance that it's cancerous", it WILL need to be removed. I meet with a neurosurgeon today to discuss the procedure and when it is going to happen -- probably within a couple of weeks.

Doctor says that it should be a 2-3 week recovery, starting with 3-4 days in the hospital. But, once they get it out, it will be gone, never to return. So that's good.

I'll keep y'all informed as I learn more. And, if you're so inclined, I wouldn't mind if you threw a little prayer my way.

Take care and I'll talk to you soon.

Todd

Wow, Todd, that's not your everyday bit of news. I'm sorry you've got to go under the knife - I hope that everything goes better than could possibly be hoped for.

As someone who also went under the knife at the hands of neurosurgeon recently (9/30/04), I wish you the best and I will be praying for you. My surgery was my neck and spine, not my brain. But here's hoping your surgery is as successful as mine was.

Good Luck Todd, I am sure you will be fine.

Saying good things here for you.

BTW, someone I used to work with had some sort of Brain issue as well, he is fine now, said it was scary until they gave him a "drug coctail" before the surgery. Apparently he was flirting with the nurses in front of his wife he was so out of it...

Anyway... Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery.
