I don't get it. Why is everyone so excited and pro-Bloc Party? It's like Franz Ferdinand and the Futureheads. I get it. So?

The two supposed breakout bands for this year that I keep hearing mentioned are them and the Dresden Dolls.

I'm not a big fan of either, but at least the Dolls are unique.

We already had this thread thanks to Monsieur Loogarre.

We've reached a level now were the backlash precedes the hype - i mean they haven't even released their debut album yet.

Besides they're better then FF and don't really sound like the futureheads at all.

i likey. the percussion on the tracks i've heard has been far superior to anything i've heard on franz ferdinand--the fills on "banquet" are tasty as fuck.

no but srsly i think their nothing earthbreaking or anything, but you know, its a tight album, but also, tracks like "she's hearing voices" and "price of gasoline" hint at something much bigger and more awesome. hopefully.

of course they're not the only ones. they definitely wear their influences on their sleeves, but man are they a tight band that write great tunes.
