Is it as good as Wyclef and Kenny Rogers re-working "The Gambler"?

Yep, from the same glorious mess of a second record by Wyclef. That thing was ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I love this album. Maybe just for Kenny Rogers' inclusion -- ever since seeing the Big Lebowski, I have had a fascination with KR, probably because I couldn't've seen ever him producing a "Just Dropped In..." before hearing it, since in my lifetime he's been fairly corn-ball c n' w -- but, it's a good party record regardless. So, I have no complaints.

As is, though, I havn't heard it in a good two years, after having lent it to a friend while in Romania. I lent him the Wyclef and Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, and didn't get them back.

So, my count of Cds lost to friends:

Gang of Four Entertainment! (bought at an Half-priced Books in early '99, just before GoF became raison d' etre for so many post-indie bands; I bought it because I saw them mentioned in a review of a Fugazi record -- End Hits, I think)

Built to Spill Keep It Like a Secret

Wyclef The Ecleftic: 2 Sides to a Book

Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou? (sdtrk.)

So, either I need to be more careful picking my friends -- at least as careful as I am picking my nose, so, a, I won't get caught with my pants down, and, b, since I bleed easily (from my nose; another reason for me not to mess with cocaine) -- or I need to have even worse taste in music than I do already.

I wouldn't care, except for that fucking Johnny Cash tribute that he ruined by "freestyling" in the middle of whatever song he was attempting sing. All I remember is hearing him say "Me and Johnny got picked up in Bentley" the rest is blackness foloowed by waking up in prison 6 weeks later.

Monty, as per yr. Kenny Rogers fixation. I met The Gambler himself at Chili's in Athens, GA. He walked by ou table, I told my friend Scott who, when Kenny walked past again on his return from the lavatory, looked him dead in the face, and said "KNow when to walk away, Kenny." KR smiled and gave us the wink and the gun, and a "THANKS, GUYS."

Best Story Ever.
