I used to, and re-subscribed last November because I could get a gift subscription for free. I (nor my gift sub recipient) have yet to receive an issue. I emailed them about it in mid-December, and they said they had both subscriptions on record to go out. Well, it's now February 3, and I still haven't received anything (nor has my giftee). I've emailed them twice about it now, and have gotten zero response.

Is anyone else seeing a lapse in their deliveries?

I think the last issue was a Dec/Jan issue, so I would have thought February's would have been mailed out by now. Isn't that the point of a subscription? You get it BEFORE it goes on the magazine racks?

Okay, maybe I'm just being impatient. I think I remember Magnet being slow in the past.

I've never had any problem.

Yea, you're just being impatient.
They are pretty good about sorting that stuff out. You probably just missed getting in line for the latest issue. They usually only send out 5 or 6 per year as it used to come every 2 months, but they seem to skip a month here and there the past couple years.

The only reason I subscribe is because I don't want to miss a sampler cd. I have volumes 6-36 and am anal about keeping up my "complete" collections. Can't find volumes 1-5 for the life of me. Their samplers pale in comparison to CMJ's though.

I re-upped & got the freebie subscription for a friend, too. Both of us have received the most recent issue ( Tom Waits cover story ) . Weird that you're having trouble - I've always had really good luck with Magnet.

Diggity, where do you live, if you don't mind my asking? I'm on the west coast, so I'm thinking that's why there's a lagtime, however my gift recipient lives in Atlanta. How long would it take for something to get from Philly to Atlanta? Not long, I'd imagine.

They tend to be a little slow w/ distribution. I got the Elliot Smith cover about a month ago.

Ashlea has always been very helpful when I've complained about not getting a magazine.

I haven't received the Tom Waits issue yet, but I haven't had a problem in the last two years I've subscribed.

I didn't do the subscribe a friend because I'd rather sign them up and gete them a free album for $15 and do the same thing for me so I get more music, instead of saving half price and getting no cd's.
It sounded good, but for only $15 more, we each get a cd. Do you dig my ditch?

Yeah I got the jan/Feb issue (Elliot Smith) last month with no problem.

It's refreshing to get a magazine you subcribed to in a timely manner.

*Correction*

I did actually get the Tom Waits issue.

It was hiding.

I'm thinking about subscribing for the CD. A year's subscription plus a CD for $15 ain't bad. Any word on how long it takes the CD to get there? I don't want to have to wait a month or two for this.

It's been a few years, but I don't remember the CD taking very long to get to me. Plus you get a sampler CD with every issue. Last time I re-upped I got 2 years for $25.

The two times I re-upped, I never got the free CD I wanted. Even the second or third choice. Last time, they sent me some Capitol records sampler.

Hmm...well that makes it tough then. The CD is a bit of a deciding factor.
