I'm working on this now (getting married in a month). Are you looking for songs to be played during the ceremony? And which genre?

I'm working on this now too. I have some ideas, but I'm not quite sure where I'm going to use the individual songs yet.

The only wedding songs thread I could find on Obner is here.

I remember a big thread containing many more songs on CMJ a while ago, but it's no longer archived. I did find this one though.

Don't know if any of that is what you're looking for.

Make that 4 of us......we are actually trying to avoid hiring a DJ for the reception but rather are going to setup a playlist on our MP3 players with music we like.....and a few old favorites thrown in for everybody else...

Oh yeah, and as a joke we may play "No Children" by The Mountain Goats sometime during the reception.....obviously not right off the bat ;)

I'll just tell you what I said in the CMJ one that is lost forever.

"I knew someone once that got married and they played 'Sunset Drama King' by The Appleseed Cast for the entrance of the bride and such"

It truly was nice.

Although, I wouldn't suggest it for the reception. haha.

I'm almost definitely having Liszt's Les Preludes played during the ceremony, probably as the main processional

I'm hiring a band that primarily does Motown....they're even going to let me jump up and do a song I wrote with them during the reception.
