Little known factor: for Hitler's first public appearance as Fuhrer, he performed the Nazis's stiff-armed salute with each arm, in an early rendition of what would come to be in the 70s and 80s "the wave". Thusly, no German sporting event is ever graced by a communal, section-by-section wave. In fact, it's against the law to perform the wave, at the sporting arenae, and anywhere else.
