This is great, but let's talk about some music.

I started a thread about this on Konstantin/Darren's sight, but it is good enough to warrant a new one.

This was released a few years ago (2001) but is the best record new to my ears this year.

If you have the means, I highly reccomend picking this up. I can't really give an RIYL, but I will tell you that I made sure to seek this out when I saw that he wrote "Duty Free" which is covered by Cracker on the Countrysides album. (which you should all like as well)

This guy kicks major ass, and I will be getting his new one ASAP. Shout outs to Billzebub and Bill Radcliffe for reccs. and Sketch for getting this from Ubernet and shooting it to me via iChat.

Hopefully they will show up here, as well.

I downloaded this when Radcliffe mentioned it and you gave it the "ups" awhile ago. It's a really good album.

Thank you Senator. I'll probably attempt to hit you up in an hour or two so I don't back up my firm's network.

I will probably be gone... I have to go to the home of Bubba from Forrest Gump: Bayou La Batre, AL. I'm not joking. Should be interesting. So, if you don't get to me today, look for me whenever. I'm rarely far from the computer, unless I'm out of the house.

Just got in... it was a lot easier the first time. (Much love, Haq).

Yeah, this is pretty cool. Haven't assimilated yet, but some of it is very promising.

The new one is solid as well. Reilly's voice is amazing, and his band is T I G H T. Easily my fave of '04.

Ok - I got this last week, and i've given it a couple of listens. I like it. Except every once in awhile his voice totally sounds like that dude from The Offspring and I have to reset my brain.

anybody else ever notice this?

So I keep reading a lot about this guy and Bloor/Loog still seem smitten with his stuff and I've not heard a note. Is this the album to start with or what? What's the difference between his solo and Assasination work? Better, same, worse?

I got this from the distinguished Senator, and it completely owns. It is the ultimate cruising record.

Once again I ask the question.

Why will Ike Reilly not play the Southeast?! I have had conversations with Loog about booking him a show down here and selling tickets myself just sowe can see him.

Agreed; you can't name drop the Clairmont Lounge and then just not play Atlanta. It makes no sense.

What's funny is, this thread is from the first day of Obner (10/25/04) and is still the truth today. Great fucking album.

Why not? Couldnt possibly be any louder than the firworks display on the 4th of July.

And fuck my neighbors anyways. We could point the speakers out towards the cow pasture and do it.

Liar. I just paid $1.38. That's a whole lot more than a buck. Shame on you.
